Daily News

The campaign began last week with a new billboard at 902 East River Drive, in Davenport, alerting the community to the link between abortion and breast cancer in women. The goal of the campaign is to make members of the Quad City community aware of the dangers induced abortion poses to a woman’s health and will focus on the increased risk of breast cancer, subsequent miscarriages, and post-abortion stress that women often suffer after an abortion.

As an integral part of this campaign, Dr. Angela Lanfranchi, New Jersey breast surgeon and co-founder of the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, will speak at Quad City Right to Life’s annual fundraising banquet. The banquet cost is $75 per person and will be held at 6 pm on Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Rogalski Center Ballroom, St. Ambrose University.

Contingent on funding, Quad City Right to Life will continue their awareness campaign with additional billboards, advertisements, and speaking engagements during the coming months in order to alert the Quad Cities to the more than 50 documented studies since 1957 which show that abortion increases a woman’s risk of breast cancer.

‘Women are not being told the truth regarding the consequences of ending a pregnancy. We are constantly barraged with advice on how to live healthy lives. Ironically, there seems to be a politically correct, hands-off attitude about the dangers women face when they choose to abort. Quad City Right to Life plans to expose those dangers by openly discussing them in order to benefit our community."– Renee Busha, Executive Director, Quad City Right to Life.
