Planned Parenthood’s Emergency Contraception giveaway targets college students headed for Spring Break.
Indiana Planned Parenthood is using Spring Break to jumpstart a campaign of “Free EC” that runs from February 26th through April 8th while supplies last. Mike Fichter with Indiana Right to Life calls the campaign predatory marketing.
“It’s a way of establishing customer relationships with young people that will come back to Planned Parenthood for surgical abortions once the Planned Parenthood condoms and emergency contraceptives fail.”
Kiera McCaffrey with the Catholic League says even the name; “emergency contraception” is disingenuous for college students. |

EC Giveaway Called “Irresponsible”

“College kids could not know the full situation, they may not know exactly what is in these pills, what the effects can be and they are being given this message of take this, this pill can fix everything. In fact it can end human life and it’s very dangerous for these kids to have the idea that this is going to make amends for anything that they have done.”
Not to mention the so-called “emergency contraception” will not protect anyone from a sexually transmitted infection. Curt Smith is with Indiana Family Institute says it has no preventative effect.
“It just prevents the sperm and the egg from uniting if it’s the right time. Or if that egg, that impregnated egg, zygote, from implanting in the uterine wall.”
He complains that once again Planned Parenthood is targeting young people. He encourages parents in Indiana, and elsewhere to encourage their college students to remain sexually pure and avoid Planned Parenthood tactics.
