Chicago 'March For Life' Organized to Protest Freedom of Choice Act

Americans for Life plan demonstration to support families

Americans for Life, a non-denominational coalition founded to defend the sanctity of human life at all stages, has organized a protest for Friday, May 22 in downtown Chicago.

The rally and march will be a demonstration against the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) and U.S. Government funding of abortion worldwide. Americans for Life will also stand in support of traditional marriage and the Defense of Marriage Act.

"Americans are basically family-oriented people," said Richard Walsh, Chairman of Americans for Life. "Those of us who defend life and marriage are the true patriots. Without the strong foundation of traditional marriage and profound respect for the sanctity of life, America cannot hope to survive in these troubled times."

Speakers scheduled for the rally include: Joseph M. Scheidler, National Director of the Pro-Life Action League, Diane Schroeder, President of Lutherans for Life, Jill Stanek, nationally recognized blogger and nurse-defender of life, Sandy Rios, radio host from WYLL and Tom Brejcha, President of the Thomas More Society Pro-Life Law Center.

The rally will begin at 11:30 am at the Thompson Center (Clark & Randolph) and end at the Federal Plaza (Adams & Dearborn). Pro-life flags, signs, placards, hats and other displays will be provided. For more information, please visit the AFL website at www.americansforlife.com
